220 Triathlon Blog. Winter Training - The Small Print
February 11, 2015
I know the feeling – it’s bloody freezing, you can hear the rain thumping on the window but yet you can’t see a thing because it’s pitch black. Yes, it’s winter. It’s hard to train, but no it won’t kill you and will most likely make you feel a million times better.
At the end of last year I wrote a blog for 220 triathlon in an attempt to help some of those stuggling to get out the door training to just get it done. A few months later… the same still applies. It’s not too late to salvage a good summer season. But the sooner you start, the better the summer will be….Read my blog on 220 triathlon.
P.S. I know I now say all this having broken up my winter with a trip to South Africa Ironman 70.3, but I really have trawled through most winters as a triathlete in wind and snow (I competed as a pro with full time work for three years before going part-time and have a PB on the turbo of 6hours continuous turboing!)
P.P.S. South Africa was great. It was my fourth time to the race. I came 2nd to Jodie Swallow, raced my fastest race in tough conditions and came home with some vitamin D. I will post a bit of an update on my trip and plans for 2015 in a blog later this week.
